Role Overview
One of our clients is looking for a highly
independent HR & People Operations
professional to build and own the HR foundation in Singapore from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who has been the
sole HR owner
before—comfortable operating without playbooks, navigating ambiguity, and ensuring absolute compliance with Singapore labor regulations. You will work closely with the founders as a trusted partner, balancing operational rigor with practical people support in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Payroll
- Establish, implement, and manage
end-to-end payroll operations
in full compliance with Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MoM) regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely
CPF contributions
, statutory filings, and compliance reporting.
- Act as the internal subject-matter expert on the
Employment Act
and other relevant labor regulations.
Policy & Documentation
- Draft and roll out the company’s
Employee Handbook
, leave policies, and internal HR guidelines from scratch.
- Prepare and maintain
employment contracts
aligned with Singapore law and company needs.
- Translate complex legal requirements into clear, practical, and easy-to-understand internal policies.
HR Operations & Systems
- Set up and manage internal
HRIS or tracking systems
to maintain employee records, onboarding workflows, and compliance documentation.
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and compliant employee experience.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee data.
Strategic People Support
- Partner closely with founders on
talent retention
, employee relations, and internal communication.
- Provide pragmatic HR guidance in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve quickly.
- Act as a calm, reliable point of contact for employees and leadership alike.
Key Requirements
- 3–5 years of HR experience
, with
direct experience in Singapore-based companies
.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, MoM regulations, and CPF requirements.
- Proven experience as an
independent or sole HR contributor
, owning HR end-to-end without support teams.
- Exceptional
English communication skills
, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain labor laws and policies.
- Highly proactive, resourceful, and comfortable “figuring things out” without a pre-existing manual.
